How I learned the truth about Santa
It was Easter night and I was 6 years old. I was in my bed playing with a punching balloon I had received for my birthday just days earlier. As you may recall, the old style punching balloons didn’t need to be tied off. You could simply twist the end, and stuff it back into the balloon, and it would hold the air. Well, as I was laying there playing with my awesome punching balloon, I somehow manage to let all of the air out. So, I repeatedly attempted to blow up the balloon to no avail. I finally gave up, and decided to ask my Mom to blow it up for me. I headed into the kitchen, and there it was…

My Mom sat at the table with all the Easter regalia, spread all over the table. There was the candy. There were the plastic eggs. There was the stupid green grass. I looked at my Mom and said, “You’re the Easter Bunny?” She promptly responded,” Darn right, and I’m Santa Clause and the Tooth Fairy too, now get your yewt in bed!”

The next morning my Mom was asleep on the couch in the living room. My older sister and I were going through our baskets. While I was just happy to have something in my basket, my sister was much more excited about the morning. She said, “I bet the Easter Bunny fills everyone’s basket than he takes a long nap.” I turned and looked at my slumbering mother and said, “Yep, I think your right.” I don’t know how my sister found out about the Easter Bunny, Santa, or the Tooth Fairy, but I never told her.
