X2 is better than X-Men and Days of Future Past is better than First Class.

Revenge of the Sith is the best star wars prequel.

I would argue against Rocky and Indiana Jones, but they both have arguments for later movies to be improvements. Same with the Lord of the Rings movies really (all three are great, just pick your favorite).

Top Gun: Maverick is decidedly better than the original Top Gun.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish is better than most Shrek movies and the first Puss in Boots.

Wrath of Khan is still the best Star Trek movie.

You could argue Aliens over Alien (not sure I would). You could argue Bladerunner 2049 over the original (again, not sure I would).

The MCU has a bunch:
• Winter Soldier over First Avenger
• Ragnarok over every Thor movie
• Avengers Infinity War over the two previous
• Spider-Man: No Way Home is better than the first two
