That would be awesome to walk into, especially for a HS kid.
These trips are once in a lifetime type deals. They will never get wined and dined like this again and this is something special the schools can do, and should! My only complaint is why is BYU so cheap they printed out papers and put it on the bed like a puzzle?? Can't be that much more to make a cheap fleece blanket with the photo printed on it. Maybe it has to do with the same rules that all the clothes and stuff given have to be returned (although with NIL now, does it really matter?? That is stuff that recruits should also be able to keep).

The only real risk here is if the school staff member copies the hotel key card before giving it back to the front desk. But even then, what is the staff member really going to do with the access? Sneak in at night to watch the kid sleep? I guess there are creeps like that out there, but no way they work on a college recruiting staff. Unless the NCAA has actual knowledge of schools giving key cards to "other parties" so they have access, at the schools official or unofficial request, to greet and entertain the recruit, this is a real nothing burger. But, it lets the NCAA look like they are doing something to preserve college athletics while we all know they are sitting idly buy, banking HUGE amounts of cash, while it gets destroyed.

Awesome you guys got to enjoy that process. I'm sure it made memories for the family and your son that will last a lifetime.
