Both can be true. We can be a good team that still isn’t ready to compete in the Big12. I’m not saying we’re not. We simply don’t know because we haven’t played the Big12 schedule yet. Once we do, we’ll have evidence that we can or cannot compete. I’m very hopeful. But beating up on crappy teams, although in a statistically impressive manner, does not mean we’re ready to compete in the Big12. We’ve played one road game and we lost. And we’ve played one team that looks the closest to Big12 competition (Utah). Newsflash. We lost.
These Big12 teams are no joke. And we play half the games on the road. Time will tell if we’re ready. After starting 5-2 in football, I thought we were ready to compete in the Big12. We saw how that turned out.”
We are 11 games in and we now have a large enough body of work and evidence in conference play to know we can compete.
