I also wish my kids would never be exposed to that, however that is not the world we live in. We live in a world where we need more people to shine their light to make it a better place, not hide under the proverbial bushel. Putting our kids in some sort of bubble where we try to protect them from everything also shields them from all of the good in the world, too. Learning how to be in the world and not of the world is an important skill. I think too much shielding really weakens the kids and does not provide them the inner strength needed to be able to have a fulfilling and happy life as adults, it runs the risk of making them scared of their own shadows, unable to really contribute to society, develop their God-given talents and bless those around them with those talents.
