No, it was starting in 2020 that he started to struggle. He went 9-5 and 7-6 in
2016 and 2017.
2018 was a bad year but he followed that up with an 11-2 finish, a bowl win, and a #20 final ranking in 2019.
He won divisional titles in 2016 and 2019 as well, in an extremely tough AAC West (Houston, SMU, Memphis, Tulsa, Tulane, and Navy).
His slide starting in 2020 is undeniable though.

He didn't exactly tear it up at Navy afterwards, though. I'm sure Kalani would love him as a lowly position coach.
