IMO the church should add another BYU and do so rather soon but I think they are years from actually doing it.

However, I think going to a church school greatly impacts the likelihood of staying active for the long term so the cost will easily pay for itself.

Edit: And BYU pathways is not the answer. It is the answer for one problem but not the problem of the OP.
