Pro tip- in Puerto Vallarta, go to the corner of Peru and Uruguay where you will find a street vendor that sells the
best churros you have had in your life. Even if you’re thinking “eh it’s only a churro”, give it a try. This family has making churros at that street corner for 30 years. The pastry is a strong vanilla flavor with some salt, and it’s fried in super hot corn oil to get the outside super crispy leaving the inside chewy, and then they put a crunchy cinnamon sugar on it. 5 pesos for a churro, so we got a dozen for our family of 4 for like $3.

Edit to add that I think they are only open in the evening.
