There is a spectrum of turf management. BYU is towards the bottom end.
The top end would be the NFL and European Soccer teams. They REPLACE their turf after every game. It's ~$1.5M for a cheap job. I dont know what they're playing, but $3M a replacement isn't unreasonable. Figure that's ~$20M in sod per season. And dont think that artificial fields are any cheaper.

How much could new turf possibly cost? Get a local sod farmer to donate the turf and give them free publicity at LES!
