Wow! This really was unpopular! I’m not sold that the catch was only catchable with one hand, but I digress.
I think the main thought process I had going into this post was that I feel like a lot of focus and hype around football lately are these one handed catches. I firmly believe receivers should try to catch with two hands on most occasions. The one handed stuff is for the most part more or less show boating. Again I’ll admit this two handed opinion should be for most cases and not all cases.
There were a lot of insults on here regarding my understanding of football, I’ll take it. However, I’m not new by any means to football. I played receiver in high school even though it was a very small high school in Missouri. LOL.
I am a videographer for Braswell high school in Texas that is 6A and plays the likes of Allen HS every year. Some of the best football in the country on a high school level. In fact 2 receivers/DBs from there are currently playing at OSU.
My nephew Aaron Lesué played for Utah St as a receiver and went on to play for the Utah Blaze of the arena football league and set the record for most touchdowns scored in a season at 62! I enjoyed following his career as a guy that basically could catch anything.
My son plays DB for SVU and also worked with him in high school as a receiver. He prides himself on having great hands and is known for that along his high school teammates.
So thanks everyone for sharing your thoughts. You guys are great! Go Cougs!
