1. If Clay did get higher there is a good chance the DB behind him goes through him instead of going just for the ball and pushes Clay into the ball making him miss the ball as his shoulders spread his hands further apart causing the ball to hit him in the face mask and bounce away. So no TD.
2. Had Kyle been more in line with the QB who was planted on the ground and leaning at a 45% angle at least, he very likely gets knocked out of the air and lands on his own player causing him to lose leverage allowing the QB just enough space to jump with the ball across the goal line. TD for Hawaii.
3. Had Curtis cut back to the middle of the field he would have encountered the backside defenders and would not have been able to break free as there would have been more defenders involved. No TD on this play.
4. Had Collie been running slower it would have required Max to alter the throw to avoid overthrowing him and because he would have been closer to the defenders Max would have put more air under the ball and the would most likely given the defender just enough time to recover and make the defensive play. No completion.
