100-150k. A lot more flexibility than MDs - can switch to whatever they
Want to at any time (which is silly but whatever)

A LOT shorter pathway. A lot less debt.

Less liability.

Less leverage but there’s not a lot of leverage these days for basically any MD anyway.

Harder to get jobs and harder to break in but once you get in a very good midlevel is valued and extremely safe.

Harder to have part-time work or control of your schedule which is a negative.

I would never want my girls to deal with the abusive pathway most MDs go through - it’s not healthy and even when they do get through it hospitals are toxic and not fun work environments. The higher pay is appealing and there are jobs where some moms can work 4-7 days a month and make the same as an NP but I just still don’t think it’s worth it
