1. The trolls and basement podcasts that want clicks--these guys peddle rumors and guesses that are broad and generally are in an orbit of possibility around known truths that others have stated. They eventually get lucky and then proclaim themselves as an inside source, even though they get 100 wrong for every one they get right. We all know who they are and they are referenced here on CB constantly.
2. National sports columnists and reporters. Pay attention to them. When stuff really happens, they are the ones who get the scoop.
3. And lastly, Salt Lake sports media who doesn't get information until hours after the national guys do. They are usually asleep at the wheel and/or have no inside connections, even to their local programs. I'd have to go back and listen, but I am guessing that on 9/11 our local sports radio guys were debating pancakes vs. waffles and didn't realize something had happened to the world until about mid-afternoon. Count on KSL to cut in with breaking news on realignment stuff at least five or six hours after you already found out.
