Idea of sabbaticals has worked its way in. We got a shocking number of comments about it.

University culture is a metastasized cancer infecting people with the idea that middle managers are entitled to months long paid vacations. At least a university professor is supposed to use a sabbatical to publish something that raises the profile of the school.

Instead employees be like
“I’ve been here for 5 years. I’ll take my 5 weeks of vacation and 1 week of paid sick leave, every market holiday on the calendar, AND I’d like you to keep paying me for an additional 6 weeks. I’ll give you a solid 35ish weeks of work this year. Oh and when’s merit? I need a raise”
