Trent Moser Standing out at U21 Pan Am Cup for Team USA
Trent Moser is a member of the USA Volleyball U21 squad competing in Cuba at the Pan Am Cup. Team USA is 3-1 after winning its quarterfinal match today against the Dominican Republic. They went 2-1 in the preliminary round, losing to the home team, Cuba, in 5 sets.

The team is composed mostly of freshmen and sophomore collegiate guys or guys just coming into college.

Moser has led the team in attacking (combination of kills, blocks and aces) and hitting percentage in at least a couple of the matches. His passing also has been really good. His serve has been among the top serves on the team. It will be interesting to see how the team finishes the tournament and how Moser progresses.

Regardless, seeing him shining among the top “peer” players is pretty exciting for the future of BYU Volleyball. At his size (~6’8), that is a pretty good young guy to build around for the next three years.

It will be interesting to see how the team progresses into next season, particularly how we do with a new setter, libero and having everyone a year older.
