some tough times & some poor choices (which was mostly about hangin w the wrong guys on the team).

As I recall he had a non-LDS girlfriend from home (he ended up marrying) — who transferred in to BYU & really helped straighten his life out.

He was one of two guys who came in as HS teammates of QB Drew Miller from Washington. He was the only one of the three to stick it out here (none of them were LDS). (Neither Miller or the other guy (a WR I think named Westbrook) lasted even two years.)
