It really isn’t till I was 8-12 years of age that things that were culturally significant started to impact my view or memories. Example just this week was a conversation with a work colleague who loved Micheal Jackson but had never heard of Thriller. I recall going to a friend’s house for his birthday to watch Thriller on his family’s VHS player. It was a big moment. I was 8.
