played their sport on Sunday growing up. In my sport, it would have been nearly impossible for me to land a BYU scholarship had I not competed on Sunday.

We also had no issue traveling back to SLC on Sunday, including eating out throughout the day in airports and having BYU employees in church clothes pick us up from the airport Sunday afternoon in BYU’s transportation vans.

BYU coaches also came to Sunday events for recruiting purposes when I was in high school.

Our BYU team fortunately never faced a Sunday play issue, but it would have been a little ironic to forgo Sunday competition at that point in our athletic journeys given it’s how most of us got to that level of athletic performance in the first place.
