I’ve had the impression for some time that Coke expects people to prefer Coke Zero and sees it as the future.

Almost everyone I know still prefers Diet Coke. It makes me wonder why Coke is dead set on planning for a Coke Zero future. Maybe they want to move away from aspartame?

Yep. Diet Coke is closer to “new Coke” which was intended to be closer to Pepsi. That’s why it uses the Coke logo but

Zero / low calorie drinks used to be marketed as “diet.” It is now the fashion to brand them as “zero.”
