Don't make me defend the Utes here by making bad comparisons.

The Cougarettes are a drill/dance team. They aren't cheerleaders. They do go to games. They do dance and cheer at games even. But they aren't cheerleaders - they are the dance/drill team.

Sparkles and friends are the Utah cheerleaders. They don't and won't have the dance or drill chops to compete with a dance/drill team. They just won't.

BYU's own cheerleaders wouldn't compare favorably to the Cougarettes in a dance/drill competition either.
