I honestly think we were running a high school level of complexity defense at
times. And maybe not even that.

When you see the constant bull rushes, no blitzing, LBs covering nobody and out of position, bad pursuit angles it all makes sense. The guy running the show really had no idea what he was doing. His understanding of defensive skills and schemes as very limited.

By comparison I've seen this in the workplace many times. People ride on others coattails to rise through the ranks when they really don't have any skills themselves. They rely on relationships and hoping others below them know what they are doing to be somewhat successful.
