There is money, exposure, and security. They are going to have to compromise on at least one of those. If they want equal $ to their rival BigXII, they are going to have to make some sacrifices with exposure and maybe even with a more lenient GOR (so less security). BigXII didn't have to compromise on any of those three, and they aren't put in a position where they are having to contort themselves into non-optimal arrangements to match the $ of their rival conference.
That stuff may make the math work and keep the conference together for now, but five years down the road the gap from those compromises will be impossible to ignore.
