In my wife’s family, they cut the banana in half and leave the end with the stem sitting on the counter thinking someone will eat the other half. Nobody does. I have seen multiple half bananas sitting on the counter as though they are allergic to that stem end of the banana. Once cut in half, the middle creates a new end and they peel from there down to the tip.
