CSoul Intervention Needed
To actually prove the lag, here is the USDA site with SNOTEL data for the change in snow depth (not SWE) for Snowbird

From December 10th - December 14th it only shows 17 inches of snow at Snowbird. First, I have no idea (nor does it say) if it means through the end of December 14th or the first part of the day. It definitely doesn't include the current day. Regardless, it's well below the mountain report of Snowbird for the last 48 hours, and Snowbird hasn't updated for today's snow either since it calculates that every early morning for the past day. So, even the mountain resort data is delayed, and the SNOTEL data is even more delayed.
