If not the worst. Congratulations on being competitive with them during the "Clay Helton" era and the 4 other mini-eras of coaches in addition to Helton that have hit the chopping block since Carroll resigned in 2010, the year before the Yewts joined. 5 coaches in 10 years, and SC still has a winning record against the Yewts during an era where, during a handful of seasons, the PAC, including SC, have resembled the MWC more than a P5 conference from top to bottom. In other words, you've been competitive with them pretty much during the lowest dregs of their existence and perhaps the worst era in PAC history.
As usual, you are the luckiest program in modern CFB history. And kudos to your victory in SLC this year, that was somewhat legit even though their offensive line and defense is still somewhat MWC-esque. Riley should have both of those areas fixed in the next season or 2 based just on what he has been able to do with their offense in just 1 season, but they won't be around anymore as your conference foe.
To quote the article, below, that USC published last year right before Riley was hired: "But times have changed. Most recently, the echo of boos in a half-filled Coliseum the night of the Stanford game this season still dominates the forefront of fans’ minds, as it was the nail in the coffin for the Clay Helton era, the fifth coach of the program following Pete Carroll’s departure. Since 2010, the Men of Troy have won only three divisional titles and one conference championship."
