It really depends on the application of the ice.
Pebble ice if you want quick cooling and intend to consume the beverage quickly or if you are an Ice chewer.
Cubed ice if you want your drink to cool slower but sip it slowly and not gulp it.
They both have their place in the beverage cooling arena.
