So yes I would like to be there this year. Lots of fun going to the big car shows. I try to make it to some of the big ones every year. I try to get to the best of the Utah car shows as often as possible too.

A few years back, Hot August Nights and the Reno Air Races was at the same time, some crazy scheduling disaster or something. Talk about crowds. It was all great fun though.

Don't know if you know or not but HAN sort of but not directly sprang from Bill Harrah's Car Show and Swap Meet held every summer in Reno. Bill was a huge car collector. I have never seen another car collection that came anywhere near what he had. The rarity, quality and diversity of the cars was amazing.

I spent a lot of hours there looking at cars I have never seen the likes of again. I wish it were still all together. Here's an article with some history on it:



I took cars out for the car show and spent hours combing through parts at the swap meet.

When Holiday Inn sold off most of the cars I wished so much I had the money to buy all of Bill's cars.

I have a lot of parts I bought at Harrah's swap meets. Lots of first class stuff at those swap meets. Of course prices were cheap way back.Mostly out of California I suppose. Also the Pomona Swap Meets and Car Shows, biggest in the west. Which is still going on but I haven't been for awhile.
