So, I want to hook a computer up to our TV, so that I can occasionally use it to watch sports that I have a hard time finding on Roku. (I won't go into any more detail than that. 🙂 )

I think I probably already own most of the parts I'll need to build it (probably all of them, but we'll see). It needs to be able to be controlled by a remote. I have that part pretty well figured out. It needs to have a decent amount of storage capacity. That's easy. Have any of you done this? Is there anything you especially wish you would have considered, when you built yours?

Also, is there some way of using it as something of a DVR? Let's say, for example, that there is a live stream of a game I want to watch. Have you had any experience with programs that allow you to easily record live streams?
