I will not deny that there are Ute fans who do inappropriate things
There are some (the minority) who are anti-LDS. They have been called out by me and other Utes on Ute boards. They have in fact been called out by non-LDS fans who feel that it is inappropriate to belittle one's religion.
The funny thing is that I have been on the road with the Utes and have been called out by opposition fans as dirty Mormons. So, many of the opposition see us as LDS as well. (I am LDS and I would estimate that 40-50% of our fans are.)
The closest I ever came to getting in a fight at a Utah-BYU game was with an obnoxious Utah fan who kept calling out BYU fans.
By the way - I have contacted security when I have seen Ute fans drinking and becoming obnoxious. I am there to watch the game. However, I am not there to preach the word of wisdom to them.
