This does not matter. It is not a driving lane. It is a passing lane.

If you are not passing get out of the left lane. (this does not apply to the carpool lane as it's not a passing lane. But if you are in the car pool lane, going at the speed limit or slower and the flow of traffic in all other lanes is going faster than you are get out of the car pool lane you don't need to be in it.)
