Pac12 only had 2 OOC wins against teams finishing in the top half of their conf.
Pac 12 Out of Conference (I did this manually, so there may be an error or two)
Overall: 16-20 (W-L)
FBS Wins: 9 (The other 7 wins were FBS)
Ranked at the end of the year: 1-11 (W-L)
vs MWC: 5-5 (W-L)
vs BYU: 0-5 (W-L)
vs teams finishing in the top half of their conference: 2-16 (W-L) (OSU, Fresno St.)
Top 4 Wins: Ohio St., Fresno St., LSU, San Jose St.
Bottom 4 Losses: Montana, N. Arizona, Nevada, TCU
We can argue that Utah got better as the year went on, or that the Pac 12 wasn't particularly good this year. I do think Utah did get better, but how do you compare them with other conference champs when the Pac 12 got dismantled out of conference this year. As a conference, they only had 1 respectable P5 win... as a conference.
