If the Ute twitter world is all abuzz talking about these rumors, then you know they're also talking about it with their friends outside of social media. So these guys go on the radio - guys who supposedly have some level of credibility with Utah fans - and say that there is no evidence the rumors are true. And somehow that is slanderous?
I'm not sure I understand how slander works. I think I'd rather have someone telling the world unfounded rumors about me are not true than have them say nothing while said rumors continue to swirl around.
As I said in the beginning - McComb's response was 1000X better than Checketts. He went right at the people talking crap and spreading rumors. But that doesn't mean that Checketts saying there's no evidence to support the rumors wasn't a good thing. Heck - essentially McCombs said there was no evidence to support the rumors. So he must be as bad as Checketts, right? Why even talk about these rumors and give them a bigger audience, was your argument. So McCombs blew it. Why aren't you talking about him giving fuel to the rumors?
