We were Top 10 defense in 2020. Not a uite top 30 right now. I know. SOS. But,
Top 30 or so is where Tuiaki usually is. He is just doing it in a style you like better.
Gets more sacks and TFL this season. Gives up more big run and pass plays. That is a very predictable tradeoff.
Turnovers. You like turnovers. 2018 or 2019 had a ton of linebackers interceptions - I forget which year it was.
Tuiaki is a solid defensive coach.
He will not get top 10 this season and SOS is definitely part of the reason, but if he flirts with top 30 vs P5 offenses and BSU and USU the rest of the way, our offense, as usual, will have chance to win every game.
His job is to hold opponents to 24 or less. He usually does.
If you think his job is to get 3 and out every series or a turnover - prepare yourself for eternal unhappiness.
