The other was the mom of a family in our ward that lived just a few doors down from us. She was in the process of getting divorced. The husband broke into their home while she (and their kids slept) and killed her with a hammer. The kids heard her scream and cry as he did it. Then he put her body in the trunk of her car, drove off, and sped into a telephone pole (intentionally killing himself). The murderer had coached at least one basketball team I was on not too long before this all happened. I was about 12 when he did it and as a kid he was a large and pretty scary guy.
