This. The difference in terms of national prestige between BYU and UVU isn’t...
as enormous as many BYU grads/students would want to believe. BYU is a solid undergrad school, but it was barely ranked in the top 100 (#96) by Forbes. BYU grads also want to think that it’s highly competitive, but last I checked it still had a 60%+ acceptance rate. Thats not exactly Stanford (4.3%), or Yale (6.1%). It’s not even UC Davis (39%), or UC Santa Barbara (30%).

BYU is a totally unique environment that make it one of a kind among national colleges and universities. That’s certainly worth something, but I think BYU students and alumni need to dial down the academic snobbery towards places like UVU, USU and especially the U (who is rising very quickly in the rankings) at least one notch.
