In my opinion, they have either jettisoned their best on-air talent , or allowed it to leave. I don’t necessarily mean their play by play, as I consider that job to be interchangeable unless a person is very bad, or Bill Walton. Those people are invisible if they’re good.
Not a political statement at all, but it seems that in their zealousness to diversify, they have become homogeneous mediocrity. There are some exceptions, like the College Gameday folks.
But Sports Center was once a pretty entertaining show. Now it’s like sawdust on my watermelon slice. And it’s incredible who on that network has been allowed to host their own show. Radio too.
I guess it’s to save money. But in terms of overall talent, it’s several rungs down from its peak.
