They probably do know more than almost every national writer
They follow byu closer than their own team. They care more about BYU losing than utah winning. of course they are also dumb as rocks and controlled by their own biases.
the national guys are not very good when it comes to anyone other than the blue bloods, especially when dealing with teams in the western time zones.
