You know it's not a documentary, right?
It's a Mig28 because the fictional story says it is. The director obviously used as close a plane as he could to stand in for it, then they used camera tricks to make up for the rest.

No touching

Doesn't mean he had to keep her. This is Tom Cruise, after all- he keeps them until they turn 30, right?

What is your perspective of the second one based on what’s in the trailers?

9/9/20 9:22pm
Wait, you can’t flip a jet upside down to keep up international relations?
2FarGone

Flipping a jet upside down, no big deal. Canopies 3 feet apart... rudders would literally be hitting each other. But the

First of all, the F14 has two vertical stabilizers, the MiG only has 1 so it

True. The Mig29 was a strange and abrupt derivation from typical mig development in every respect. An inverted -4g dive
mvtoro
9/10/20 10:35am
It's a Mig28 in the movie
DeekLyfter
9/10/20 10:42am
Typo. Of course it was a mig28.
mvtoro

It's an F-5.
Shore10
9/10/20 12:13pm
As aside, my favorite jet as a kid was the F-20 Tigershark II (basically a newer F-5)

Blasphemy! Jester tells us that the aggressors they fly against at Miramar are A-4s ams F-5s! I didn’t see that shiney

I'm curious where the mountains came from. Are there desert mtns in Florida?

Miramar is by San Diego.

Weird. Looks just like an F-5.

Apparently China shot down a mig28 in one of their training exercises (Link)

Maverick was just ahead of his time with the Cobra maneuver. A true innovator. You’d never see Ice man even attempt it

Duh... It was Cougar. He was #1, but turned in his wings.
