If we keep the 6 games we currently have, and at worst add the six other independent schools to get to 12 games (or 10 games if that’s the “new normal”) the schedule would suck yes. BUT I think that’s exactly what Kalani and our inexperienced staff need.
Some people believe we have a pretty decent team coming back and could’ve been competitive with our original schedule of 6 P5 games. 7-5 would be a decent projection considering our history under Sitake.
I think having a weaker schedule at this point in Sitake’s career is huge. What he needs is to build consistency and confidence, not only with himself, but his staff, players, and the fans. Make it fun again.
Going 10-2 (hopefully better) would finally get these guys into a winning culture/atmosphere.
One very under looked part of any sport is confidence. Let’s get these guys some confidence and maybe our program could finally get over the hump. I think it’s exactly what this program needs for the short term and would perfectly set up Zach Wilson’s SR season.
Rise and shout!
