M249 Machine Gun: The M249 was developed to be a bridge between the M60 Machine gun and the M16. The military wanted a lighter machine gun that had a bigger capacity than the M16. The M249(SAW) shoots 5.56 NATO and can shoot up to 725 rounds a minute.


M24A3 338 Lapua: The military wanted a sniper rifle that was a "light 50" It needed to have better accuracy than a 50 BMG and shoot farther than the M24. They adopted the 338 Lapua. (Chris Kyle's favorite sniper rifle)
