I think this is statistically mistaken. 10 people instead of one is 10 people
who could be asymptomatic carriers (or carriers w mild symptoms not yet fully detected) who could infect anyone in their vicinity or leave a droplet on a surface that someone touches 30 minutes later.
It's literally an exponential multiplier.
