"Experts." A lot of people are saying trust the experts. How much do the experts
actually know about this situation? The phrase, "In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king," comes to mind. The experts know more than we do. But if they were honest, candid and self aware, they'd admit they don't know what is going to happen.

If you get most of the experts to be candid and scientifically responsible, they're going to speak in terms of ranges of possibilities. If you take away the threat that people will come back and blame them and then you ask what they think will happen, I'm willing to bet most of them do not think the worst case scenarios will play out. If you also take away the potential for increased budgets, future job security and ego strokes because suddenly everyone is listening to them, I'm willing to bet even more would be forecasting toward the lower end of the range of possibilities.

But the reality is we have a situation with an outcome that is unknowable, even to those best educated on the subject. And we have both threats and incentives for them to say we need to behave as though the worst case scenario is a virtual certainty.

All of that is why I'm not so willing to put 100% confidence in what the experts are saying.

What is worse, is we have now set a precedent to virtually lock down society. I don't believe this situation is a big conspiracy to do that. But bad actors now have a road map for how to do it in the future.
