There is a lot of football to be played (and I'm not predicting anything) but there may be some interesting options available.
ESPN owns the Vegas Bowl, First Responder Bowl, Armed Forces Bowl, Birmingham Bowl and Texas Bowl in addition to the Hawaii Bowl. There may also be openings in games such as the Music City Bowl or Cheez-it Bowl.
An 8-4 BYU team would certainly seem like an attractive option for ESPN if the SEC weren't able to fill all their spots in the Texas Bowl for example so BYU got to play a Big 12 team in Houston.
Or perhaps the Cheez-it Bowl may take Boise State as the MWC champion and BYU could take their place in the Vegas Bowl. Or maybe the PAC 12 won't have enough teams to fill the Vegas bowl and the Cougars could play the MWC Champion in the Vegas Bowl (possible rematch issues here). Or Boise State may still make the NY6 if the AAC beats itself up.
With all the possible openings, I'd be surprised if BYU accepts a bowl bid after the game on Saturday. If they don't, ESPN may have something better than Christmas Eve vs Hawaii for the Cougars this year.
