It does mean Active LDS Ute Fan, but there was more to the origin of that
acronym. It was not intended to refer to every active member of the church that cheers for Utah. It was intended to refer to the kind of Utah fan that lives for opportunities to find fault with BYU or one of its athletes and make posts that start with, "As an active LDS Ute fan, I am appalled that [BYU or BYU athlete] would . . ."
