The ESPN guys said that the BYU player took the shoe off, then threw it. It...
...doesn't look at all like that's what happened. He didn't take the shoe off. He just saw it laying there on the field and for some reason picked it up and threw it off to the sideline.
The best part of that was the commentator saying, "Not very BYU-like." 🙂
