Would I notice the difference between my normal 65' Samsung and a similar OLED
if they were side by side viewing the same HD channel from my cable?

I'm pretty set on size at 65 inches. Not much reason for me to go either bigger or smaller in the space I'm using.

Seconded. 75 is much better than 65. If your space can accommodate .

The room and wall is plenty big enough but then my wife is going to want a larger piece of furniture underneath it.

Can you wall mount it?

It will be wall mounted. There's just a piece of furniture underneath

Black levels are best on OLED, IMO.

I've heard lots of people complaining about burn in on OLED.

I’ve had 2 LG OLEDs for over a year. No burn in at all. They are amazing.

Yes. I think so.

Is that primarily due to the color rendering or other resolution considerations?

Contrast and black levels.

Samsung doesn’t make OLEDs, as they don’t have a license to the relevant patents. Only LG and Sony have a license

We bought the 65” curved Samsung at Costco

I have that one too. I got the curve just as a conversation piece.

I'm considering downsizing to a 75" screen. My 85" one is a bit much.

Skip the tv, go with a projector and screen. Even the biggest tv looks tiny

I almost did this, until I saw how much bulbs cost. Maybe if you only used it

A new generation of affordable laser projectors are coming out

That's pretty cool. I'll keep that in mind when it's time to upgrade.

He said the room is light, which doesn’t work well for a projector

Darker the room the better, but a light room can still look amazing. The new

Great deal here on an excellent TV.

Late to the conversation but if movie quality matters then you want OLED
