McCann has the tenderest feelings for the unwritten rules of anyone. It’s
obnoxious. Not surprised you’re a fan of his bravado, though.

Other sports are designed for contact, baseball isn’t. That’s why they have penalty flags and such. Baseball lacks them because they’re unnecessary in the sport. McCann and friends aren’t upholding the rules or player safety, they’re obsessing about unwritten rules of which they’ve declared themselves the keepers.
