Season 1: Be a really good sport. Sportsmanship was the focus—help your opponent up after the tackle.
Season 2: Act like a victim. Blame the offense for everything even when your buddy’s defense sucked.
Season 3: Hang lose. Have fun. Dance around and show emotion. Let your team dance before the 4th quarter at Wiscy.
I am trying to figure out who KS is. Bottom line, his style isn’t getting it done.
He doesn’t have the right personality to be a big time coach. He can’t change who he is so it’s not realistic for us to expect a change. Every really good coach these days is a disciplinarian—saban, urban, Dabo, Kelly. Teams with these types of coaches don't struggle with so much inconsistency.
We have had more than one occasion this year we’re we’ve only had nine guys on the field for a punt. I thought to myself that reminds me of the Ron McBride years at Utah when they would have to call timeout because the kicker couldn’t find his helmet. Mac’s teams were woefully inconsistent and lacked discipline. Guess what, Mac was a player’s coach. Players loved him but they never reached their full potential as a team. Urban taking a 5-6 team to 10-2 and then to 12-0 proves that it had a ton to do with coaching.
