Grimes at least came out with an actual attack. There were some plays we hadn't seen. We actually executed a couple screens well. Our issues out of the gate were execution. Hifo steps out. Penalties, penalties, penalties.
In the 2nd half, either Peterson et al were in our play book, or we were just done. Perhaps both. But it isn't as though we came out with nothing on O. Our guys failed to play with discipline. Katoa made two huge, consecutive blunders to end the half, and that was the ball game.
On D? What in the world was that? It's as though Tuiaki was invited to a showdown at high noon on main street...when it was time to draw, he just stood there while the other dude emptied his gun all over our D, reloaded, and emptied it again. Talk about a punchless, listless, utter lack of an attempt to do anything other than lose by less.
Losing to UW--totally get it. I hoped we'd cover--barely, but am not surprised. Washington can beat a lot of good teams at home by multiple scores. The disappointment lies in the lack of discipline on O and the lack of anything at all from the defensive staff.
