Defense gets beat on alignment a lot.

Just like you show here, outleveraged on the play before it even starts. Basically gifting yards to the offense.

Good defenses start with the basics. It’s either a reflection of poor coaching or poor discipline. Probably both.

Also as you point out, safeteys and linebackers are constantly unaware of down and distance.
